"Heard melodies are sweet, but those unheard are sweeter"
This line makes us think how an impossibility or a thing of imagination gives us so much more pleasure or pain. Be it excitement or dissapointment, a fantasy brings to us more of these emotion than a reality beacuse the excitement is limited only by the horizon of our imagination and we never reach that far... And then i thought about my Ultimate fantasy, one thing that i would die for, and I was suddenly inspired to write a poem about it. So here it goes..
It was a cold and clear morning
Serene and clam except for the rhythmic breeze,
The world looked small and the horizon a few inches away
A few quick steps and I took off from the rooftop
As the morning sky beckoned me towards the orange horizon
An inexplicable emotion took over, a sense of freedom,
The pleasure of defying gravity, a sense of weightlessness,
Like a feather floating in the air, the next moment
As I looked down, I saw the brown earth
Approaching me hard and fast,
My lips curled into a wry smile as I realized that,
Poor humans can't fly...
I have no idea why ended it like this. Maybe because i love irony or maybe to reinforce myself that i still know some physics :P or for watever reason. But thus ends my Ultimate fantasy today. But one day i hope to fly.. atleast in my fantasy.

amazing poem! could literally visualise myself flyign for sometime.. n yeah the falling 2!!!
anyways, the irony that struck me was that... ' how ever good it seems.. the rooftop n horizon n the urge to fly... as mere mortals, lot of sutff does weigh down upon us n pull us down, like gravity does... preventing us from flying"
awesome job anyway! keep writing!
@Preetha--> Your imagination is limitless! you found things that i never meant to describe while i was writing in the poem... And that makes the poem look much better!
hey...that was quite beautiful...and tragic...very well written da...this your first???
Thanks!! And yea.. My first.
machan, nice one da.. It was a good sense of imagination combined with your passion. Liked it!
You are right! I always had the passion of going to the moon or atleast having a look at where we live? All the movies saying that the brain just imagines the place and the world seems to be baffling and unless the "mind" convinces itself, i dont think we can ever put weight to those concepts.
